Siemens partners with Kraftblock

The global technology company and a leading provider of industrial solutions will be a strategic partner to automate the Kraftblock Technology

The great flexibility of Kraftblock systems is demonstrated by the fact that charge and discharge times, durations and intensities are not fixed, and the interface to a customer's application can also vary in intensity. For this flexibility, the system's parts must be automated.

We are proud to announce that for the Process Automation Systems and engineering services, Kraftblock and Siemens entered a strategic partnership. Starting with a Kraftblock project, Siemens will provide the complete Process Automation System, back-end and front-end programming, and digital and control interfaces between the Kraftblock storage system and the customer's plant. Siemens is including Kraftblock Technology in its discussions with customers that are in pursuit of achieving their CO2emission goals. In the future, Siemens will be the preferred supplier for Kraftblock systems.

The Process Automation System includes controllable elements, valves, flexible fans and customizable heat exchanger systems. The precise control of these levers in the Kraftblock system allows for high reliability and flexibility in operation.

Martin Schichtel, CEO of Kraftblock emphasizes: "To have a renowned technology company like Siemens supplying the control and programming and getting to know our systems is a great factor in realizing our round-the-clock availability and security of our thermal energy storage systems”.

Kai Schneiderwind, Head of Process Automation Solutions at Siemens, says: “Our partnership with Kraftblock is a perfect example on how Siemens’ cutting-edge process automation systems and software can seamlessly integrate with innovative energy storage solutions. Together with Kraftblock, we want to set new standards for flexibility and efficiency when it comes to storing energy.”
