In November 2023, Kraftblock, together with Eneco and PepsiCo, won one of Germany's most important energy awards for the Volt project, an innovative approach to decarbonizing process heat in a food factory. As a joint nominee, the three companies were nominated in the "Joint Efforts" category for energy system transformation. CEO Dr. Martin Schichtel accepted the award on behalf of all the nominees. The other nominees were GP Joule Wärme GmbH & Co. KG and Küper GmbH with Eickhoff Maschinenfabrik GmbH, both of which are doing impressive work in the field of energy system transformation. Speaking on behalf of the jury, Stefan Wenzel, Parliamentary State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection, said in his laudation that this was an important and impressive project, given that "67 percent of industrial energy is process heat". He emphasized that electrification and new ways of electrification are very important to make process heat generation a carbon neutral process. He also emphasized that the three partners have worked together to bring to light a new innovative concept that is needed for the energy transition.

Kraftblock CEO Martin Schichtel accepted the award on behalf of the three partners. The Volt project and the plant that will be installed is a groundbreaking system from our engineers that has the potential to change the energy supply of entire industries. This could be a powerful lever to slow climate change, as industrial emissions from high-temperature process heat are one of the largest contributors.
