Kraftblock welcomes new CCO

Florent Baudu joins Kraftblock as its new Chief CommercialOfficer (CCO). Florent brings a wealth of experience from the steel, glass and petrochemicals sector, deepening the expertise of Kraftblock’s high-temperature core sectors. His background positions him as a key driver for Kraftblock's growth and impacting the energy transition.

Florent studied at the Télécom Physique Strasbourg, part of the University of Strasbourg, where he earned Master degrees in Nuclear Physics and Engineering. Furthermore, he augmented his business acumen with an Executive MBA from EDHEC Business School.

His professional career has been marked by a deep involvement in heavy industries, including steel and EPC within the steel sector, as well as petrochemicals. This experience has provided him with a comprehensive understanding of the energy-intensive processes that Kraftblock's technology aims to decarbonize.

"Decarbonization is not just a professional pursuit for me; it's a fundamental driver in my personal life," Florent says. This passion led him to the field of green hydrogen, where he was motivated by the immense challenges and potential of this sector. His deep interest in technical development aligns perfectly with Kraftblock's innovative approach to thermal energy storage.

CEO Martin Schichtel underlines: “Florent is an excellent addition as he strengthens Kraftblock’s experience in steel, petrochemicals and project management. As someone who managed to develop electrolysers projects, thermal energy storage should come easy to him.”

Florents perspective on the economics of the energy transition is insightful. While acknowledging its complexity, he sees it as a potential economic game-changer for industries that may not yet fully grasp its transformative power. "To realise the economical benefits of the energy transition, a fully holistic approach is required, and we are on our way to educate this aswell," he asserts. He believes that Kraftblock's technology can unlocksignificant economic advantages for industries seeking to reduce their carbonfootprint and enhance energy efficiency.
